Thanks for stopping by 48th State Adventures, my personal blog about all things adventure in the great 48th state of Arizona, and beyond!

My name is Jason. I live in the Valley of the Sun, right in the heart of the Sonoran Desert, and I spend a lot of time exploring the Arizona outback with family, friends and my dogs. I’m a year-round hiker, and I’ve spent about two decades on the trails in and around Phoenix, usually with a four-legged hiking buddy (or four) along for the ride.
Around here you’ll find a little bit of everything: desert and mountain hikes, parks and preserves, river floats and paddling trips, road trips and off-road runs in the Fast Attack Taco, plus practical tips for staying safe out there in the heat, for you and your dog.

Before you hit the trail, take a minute to read up on Land Ethics and the Seven Principles of Leave No Trace. Come prepared, respect the land, and pack it out.
Happy Trails!
