A new age? Or is it just temporary insanity?

So, yeah. It’s April 21, 2020…I really don’t want to bring politics or the current social situation into the conversation here. But with that, it must be said, that change is happening in the world right now. For better or worse, it’s yet to play out fully yet, as we are in the midst of it right now.

One thing that hasn’t changed a whole lot is my hiking routine. I’m probably hiking more frequently now than before. The kids are out of school till the end of summer and we recently took in a new dog who loves to hike as much as the rest of us, so finding a hiking buddy right now is pretty easy.

Trails where we hike daily, at South Mountain are a little more congested. There has been a rise of trash and ‘doggy bags’ left on the side of the trail. I’ve noticed the end of my street is always full of cars now, even though we don’t have an official trail head.

We haven’t been out to hike or ride anywhere that requires driving. With South Mountain practically in our back yard, we are able to stay pretty occupied at home.

One benefit to the calamity we have been forced to endure is that I am finding more and more free time to do things….like finally update this website. This site has actually been around for a couple years. Late last year, following some issues with my web hosting provider, I pretty much lost everything, all of the content I had posted. I’m not too concerned though, I will salvage some of the content I still have and take this as a great excuse to get back to some of the places I haven’t been in a while.
